WarnerMedia LLC, formerly Time Warner Inc., is a global media and entertainment company. Its operating divisions include HBO, Turner, and Warner Brothers, and the organization distributes media content in more than 190 countries. Its brands and franchises include DC Entertainment, Cartoon Network, and CNN. WarnerMedia employs over 26,000 people around the world.
The corporation’s social responsibility focus includes a commitment to environmentally sustainable content creation, and to the development of rising artists and storytellers. Through the Time Warner Foundation, WarnerMedia partners with organizations like the Point Foundation, which promotes the academic and leadership development of LGBTQ students, and Women’s Project Theater, which offers professional development and networking opportunities to female playwrights and directors.
The company has partnered with HSF since 1983, through the Time Warner Foundation, to provide scholarships and support services for Latino students across the nation. Since 2017, WarnerMedia has been a key supporter of the HSF Media & Entertainment Summit—an annual conference that exposes HSF Scholars interested in the field, to diverse career opportunities and specialized knowledge from industry insiders.
WarnerMedia (as Time Warner) was also the lead donor to the Lisa Garcia Quiroz Graduate Fellowship Fund, established in memory of the late Lisa Garcia Quiroz, Time Warner’s first Chief Diversity Officer, and a former HSF board chair. The fellowship covers tuition, fees, and living expenses for graduate students at the Harvard Kennedy School, “who have demonstrated an interest in reducing disparities in US Latino and other underserved communities.”
